Chestnut Plantation, New Forest
Project Overview
Set within a rural setting in the New Forest, Chestnut Plantation is designed by John Pardey Architects with engineering by EngineersHRW.
The home is set across two single storey buildings which are positioned directly opposite each other, separated by a wildflower meadow laying between them. The main home has been designed with a pitched roof, with an open vaulted ceiling internally that are created using large engineered roof trusses, with solar zinc and pv roof covering.
Set opposite the main home is the open studio space and garage building, constructed with a flat roof created out of masonry with Kerto engineered timber joists, it will eventually have a green roof (sedum). Internally both buildings feature exposed brickwork.
