Watson House, New Forest

Project Overview

Set within a rural setting this replacement dwelling, by John Pardey Architects, was created to be low lying and hidden from the road. Sustainability was a key design feature for the life cycle of the project, which was embraced during the build.

The design was conceived as a lightweight timber pavilion, grounded by the brickwork chimney and plinth, made from Petersen Tegl Kolumba hand-thrown bricks. In design the vertical sweet-chestnut cladding reflects the pine tree wood that surrounds the house.
